Now Playing Tracks

Juliette lounging on her frozen pond! :) on Flickr.

Now if you really want some attention then here’s the thing: Go to Tractor Supply Store with the puppies!
Just about every one in the store needed to pet them and take pictures with their phones. And in the parking lot we got run down and had to listen to stories of their Pyrs. It was truly an experience for Isaac who sniffed and smelled all the dog treats on the shelves and more.
Most amazingly no one asked the question: “what kind of dog is that?” They all knew.

Smell! on Flickr.

Each of these big noses contains about 200 million sensory receptor sites. Compare that to our noses with just a bit over 6 million. No wonder it’s a big part of their communicating system. A lot of talking is done with their noses.
Yes you guessed it right: i’m reading the book “Inside of a dog” by Alexandra Horowitz.
It is in my opinion much more than a regular dog book. it is an eye opener as much as a nose opener.
I’m seeing my pups already in a whole different daylight and get even more respect for my furry roomies and i’m not even halfway the book.

Holding Watch by full moon. on Flickr.

Juliette is watching the moon, sitting on Thomas favorite mulch heap. Thomas spent a lot of time on this very spot and we all slept there together on his last night. I never want to touch this area of my land. It’s slowly overgrown with Mint.
(full moon looks almost like sunlight. the light streak on the horizon is a car passing by) about 9 seconds of lens opening. See exif data for full info.

Inspiration for this photo came indirectly from my friend Ken www.flickr.com/photos/flint-hill/
who bombarded us lately with a folly of extremely wonderful photos
